IronBee vs QA.tech
IronBee verifies every change your agents make from its diff, with no test suite to grow, and you can start on your own on a free plan. QA.tech is a platform of QA agents: tests are written as natural-language goals, and on a pull request it selects the tests that cover the change and adds new ones where coverage is missing.
- $0 to start, with 3 seats and no credit card
- No suite needed: each change is verified from its diff
- A gate inside Claude Code, Cursor and Codex, in enforce mode
- File + line the root cause when a check fails
What IronBee brings
Start on your own, with the price on the page
IronBee is self-serve: a Free plan with 3 seats and no credit card, then Team at $15 per seat a month. On QA.tech’s pricing page every plan ends in “Talk to us”, and pull request testing starts in the Growth plan, which is onboarded through a guided proof of concept.
No suite to grow
A review that works from a suite picks from the tests that exist and writes new ones where coverage is missing, and those join the suite. IronBee’s verification needs no suite. It reads the diff, drives what the change can reach on the running app and returns a verdict, so there is nothing to select from and nothing to curate.
A hook, not a command
An MCP server or a CLI lets the agent list tests, start a run and read the result, when it chooses to. IronBee registers a completion hook in Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. In enforce mode it runs verification before the agent can finish a code change.
From the result to the line
A test result says what failed, and an evaluator can add a hypothesis about why. IronBee’s analysis joins the evidence with OpenTelemetry spans and your code and names a file, a line and a reason. With the GitHub Action, the fix can be committed to the branch.
It follows the change to the server
A page can render while the request behind it fails. IronBee reads OpenTelemetry spans from the same request, and they feed the root cause. Inside the coding agent it also attaches to the Node.js and Python runtimes.
It watches the agent, not only the app
Once a day IronBee analyzes your coding agent sessions and turns what it finds into recommendations: where the agent gets stuck, how well its fixes work, which files cause the most trouble. They are injected into the agent’s context on its next session.
Question by question
| Question | IronBee | QA.tech |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | An AI QA engineer: it verifies each change on the real app and returns a verdict with evidence. | A platform of QA agents that run tests written as natural-language goals. |
| What a run checks | What the change can reach, worked out from the diff. | Tests it selects from your suite, plus a few it writes where coverage is missing. |
| Getting started | Self-serve, in a few minutes, on the Free plan. | Starter’s onboarding is self-serve. Pull request testing starts in Growth, with a guided proof of concept. |
| Inside the coding agent | A completion hook in Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. In enforce mode it runs verification before the agent can finish a code change. | An MCP server and a CLI, with a Claude Code subagent and skill file, that the agent calls to list tests, start runs and read results. |
| When a check fails | A root cause down to a file and a line. With the GitHub Action, the fix can be committed to the branch. | Test results on the pull request. Each failed test’s result carries the evaluator’s assessment. |
| Server-side errors | OpenTelemetry spans from the same request feed the root cause. | Its docs point to a monitoring tool. |
| Vercel and Netlify previews | Built in: a deployment check on Vercel and a card on the Netlify deploy summary. | It runs against the preview deployment your Git host reports. |
| Price | Free for 3 seats. Team: $15 per seat a month. | Not published: every plan says “Talk to us”. |
IronBee or QA.tech, answered.
What people ask when the alternative is a fleet of QA agents.
Yes, if what you want is every change verified before it merges. QA.tech does it with a suite: its agents pick the tests that cover the change and extend the suite where coverage is missing. IronBee verifies the change itself from the diff, with no suite, returns the root cause with the verdict, and inside Claude Code, Cursor and Codex it can hold the agent until the change is verified.
